Since our journeys have taken us online more this last year, I am so excited for the opportunity to be doing these online events and meeting so many new people. I love supporting small business owners and this is definitely a great way to get to do just that.
Of course since we will be doing all of our business via posts and pictures and possibly a few videos... it can really make it hard to introduce ourselves to others in this digital world.
I am not here to tell you how to do your thing... I believe we all have our way of running our businesses and I totally want you to be able to be you.
But... I do have a few things that are definitely dont do's and some tips that may help you if you would like to implement them into your posts.
Ok.. so here goes... definitely DO NOT DO THESE THINGS...
Do not post nude photos, photos of firearms, tobacco, marijuana or related images. The powers that be will shut us down and we do not want that.
That's it.
Now, here are some tips...
The goal of your introduction post is to tell your story... your why... who you are and why you are doing what you do. You are saying hello to your new customers... this is an opportunity to start that know, like, and trust relationship with them.
Tell them a little about you and your family, life, pets, hobbies, or interests... things they can relate to.
Talk about your product or business and how you got started with doing that, your goals with your business, or why you chose to sell that particular product.
I like to end with a question or questions that ask them things about their lives too... this is a perfect opportunity to find out about your audience.
And... don't forget some pictures of you and the things you are sharing about in your story.
Online events like this one are ideal for starting new relationships with people outside of your warm market.
This is the beginning of a long-term relationship between you and a whole bunch of new customers.
Get excited and make new friends.
